David Carswell

Dave joined Guilford Savings Bank in July 2010, bringing with him nearly 10 years of banking experience of working closely as a trusted advisor in every aspect of commercial business. More recently, his attention is devoted to the day-to-day retail operations of the GSB Plaza branch in Guilford, CT, serving the financial needs of consumers and commercial customers with a primary focus on residential mortgages, home equity loans and lines of credit. Growing up in a successful family business environment, Dave owned his own retail business and has a substantial knowledge base, understanding the challenges businesses face in today’s economy. Dave is very accustomed to working with all types of businesses - corporations, not for profits, sole proprietors and family run businesses. Dave serves on boards of several nonprofits, primarily those focused on improving the fabric of our communities such as food, shelter and the arts. He is involved in various community organizations and events including the Old Saybrook Chamber of Commerce, President of HOPE Partnership Inc, and Trustee for Old Saybrook Historical Society. In his free time, David enjoys biking & sailing in the summer and skiing in the winter and hiking year ‘round!
