Sterling House Community Center Executive Director Amanda Meeson, was among the creative young professionals under the age of 40 dedicated to personal and professional development and who serve as leadership role models in the region. Sterling House’s Meeson assumed her leadership position at Sterling House Community Center three years ago in 2016. Since that time she has led the organization through a $2.4 million renovation, its 85th Anniversary Celebration, measurable revenue and program growth, as well as technology and infrastructure advancements. Prior to Sterling House, Meeson served as Vice President of Programming for The Leadership Program in New York City, supporting 150 schools with youth and family programming. She has presented nationally on the topics of youth and family engagement, program quality, leadership and staff development with The National After School Association, Beyond School Hours Conference, United Way Program Academy, NYS Association for the Education of Young Children, Because Kids Count, NYS Association of Youth Bureaus and the National 21st Century Community Learning Centers conference. Prior, Meeson graduated from the theatre program at Ithaca College. She served as Educational Director for The Lake Dillon Theatre Company in Colorado and Children’s Theatre Director with City Lights Youth Theatre and The Women’s Project of NYC. Meeson recently graduated from The Leadership Greater Bridgeport Program, is on the board of Soundview Media, is a member of BRBC's Women’s Leadership Network, and, was named to the Shakespeare Property Task Force.
